this was inspired by cel's blog: true friends are rare and hard to find, but when you do, keep them for they will be with you thru your darkest moments. if you sit down to really think about it, besides your family in general, who else can you count on as true friends? i work best one on one with people and i only need two hands to count the number of people that i know to be my true friends. others are people that i am still getting to know or else, they are people whom i know aren't my friends.
i've learned alot about friendships over the years, and there is still more to learn. but the best thing i have learned is to cherish the friends that i have. they will protect your heart when you keep them close, but you also have to protect their hearts. it's a sacrifice that only brings more joy to you.

Right now I am going thru a rough time. My friend of three decades is dying. I am trying to be a good friend, and I am so sad and angry about her disease and I know of no way to cheer her up. When I visited yesterday (2 hours away) I took her a big bunch of sunflowers and we talked about past experiences, then I couldn't keep it in anymore and just broke down and cried and told her how much I loved her and how angry I am and how unfair it all is. I couldn't help myself. I left feeling awful, that I didn't really help at all. I think she was crying as we left. I'm going back on Monday and I want to do better this time. I want to do the right thing and make her happy and I dont know how to do that. I want to be a better friend, a ray of sunshine, and I have no clue. Sometimes it is really hard to be a good friend.
Sorry, Gabrielle, it just poured out!
I've always only had a few really true friends and a ton of acquaintences. The true friends are still around,t he acquaintences come and go.
Hehehe, it's good that you can count your true friends on two hands - I only need one *lol* But I'd rather that and know they are true!
And yes - you're right, it is a two-way thing!

Good thinking. Also, I'd rather have one REAL friend than five FALSE ones.
BTW, That pic you have kills me..."Two heads are better than one" I suppose!
Thanks for coming by my place!
